There are still almost two years to go until the end of their relationship with PUMA, but AC Milan are negotiating with a new kit supplier.

According to a recent report from Footy Headlines – a website specialising in kit leaks and technical partnerships – Adidas are reportedly ready to announce a major new deal with an Italian club. Now, Calcio e Finanza confirm this mystery club is likely to be Milan.

The agreement between the Rossoneri and PUMA expires at the end of the 2027-28 season and is not expected to be renewed. They will make way for the other German sportswear giant, which would thus return after a decade under PUMA.

A bond renewed

Adidas and Milan had previously been linked for 20 years, after also being the kit manufacturer in the 1970s and in the 1990s too. Sources at Milan have not commented on the possibility, reiterating that PUMA are an important partner and there is a contract in place.

However, the path seems clear and should lead to Adidas in just under two years. The new agreement could also provide a significant boost on the financial front. Milan announced in recent days that its sponsorship revenue has exceeded €100m annually for the first time in its history.

This figure has been impacted by the increase in fees paid by another major partner, Emirates, and could grow further in 2026-27, thanks in part to the renewal signed with the airline .

Puma currently pay Milan just over €25m as part of the agreement (official figure from the latest available financial statements, 2024-25 season). The value of last season’s agreement will emerge from the 2025-26 financial year file, but in any case, it’s reasonable to expect an increase with Adidas.

If the deal is finalised, the German brand will welcome another Serie A club under its wing, joining Juventus, Roma and Lecce. Milan would essentially replace Como, who will move away from Adidas to start self-producing their kits starting in 2027-28, following a similar path to Napoli.
