Another Sutalo at Lazio: Young Defender Set to Finalise His Transfer
Lazio will reportedly bolster their youth ranks by signing Aleksej Sutalo, a teenage defender who isn’t related to Josip Sutalo.
The Background
The Biancocelesti revamped their backline in the summer after parting ways with Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli, and Samuel Gigot. They brought in former Union Berlin duo Danilho Doekhi and Diogo Leite on free transfers, and signed Josip Sutalo on loan with an option to buy from Ajax.
The Croatian international is tipped to become a stalwart at the back, effectively replacing Gila thanks to his ability to bring the ball forward, in addition to his defensive prowess. Interestingly, Sutalo will be joined by another defender who carries the same surname but hails from another country.
Aleksej Sutalo All Set to Join Lazio
According to Il Messaggero, Lazio are finalising a move for Aleksej Sutalo, who will make the move from FC Koper. The 17-year-old is a highly promising centre-back who is considered one of the exciting young talents in Slovenian football. He currently plays for his club’s U19 side, in addition to featuring for Slovenia U19.
Another Exciting Name Added to Lazio’s Primavera
Sutalo is thus expected to join Lazio’s Primavera team (U20), which hosts other highly regarded talents, like Adrian Przyborek and Bruno Galassi, who both joined the club earlier this year. The midfield duo often train with Gennaro Gattuso’s first team, but they feature almost exclusively for the Primavera.
