AC Milan drew 1-1 in Friday lunchtime’s friendly match against Padova at Milanello, that took place behind-closed-doors.

According to MilanNews, in the first half head coach Ruben Amorim decided to field the best possible eleven, aside from the injured Alexis Saelemaekers. The team was as follows: P. Terracciano; Gabbia, Gila, Tomori; Diawara, Loftus-Cheek, Comotto, F. Terracciano; Idrissi, Hutchinson; Pulisic.

This unusual side did not limit the Rossoneri’s creativity, as they came close to taking the lead with all three attacking players. Padova goalkeeper Sorrentino did well to deny Pulisic, Hutchinson and Idrissi.

In the second half, Amorim made only two changes: Ossola and Nirash Perera came on for Idrissi and Hutchinson. Milan continued to attack until Ossola’s goal with just over 20 minutes left, with a diagonal shot from an assist by Loftus-Cheek.

Silvano Vos – who has been performing well for Milan Futuro this start to the season, also came on towards the end – but Sgarbi equalised with a header for the visitors. The result is not of particular importance, given the game was all about getting minutes in the legs to stay close to match fit.

The friendly against Padova concludes the training week, and the players remaining in Milan will now have a rest weekend. Training sessions are scheduled to resume on Monday, when preparations will finally begin for the next match against Sassuolo, on Sunday 11 October.
