Spanish football expert makes intriguing Celtic cult hero prediction after slow start
The Egyptian winger arrived from Real Oviedo during the summer in a deal worth around £6.5million, but has yet to consistently make his mark in Martin O’Neill’s side.
Hassan has started just five of his nine appearances for Celtic so far and has registered one assist, which came against St Johnstone.
However, Lowe saw plenty of the 23-year-old during his time in Spanish football and believes Celtic supporters may eventually see an exciting, if occasionally frustrating, player emerge.
After asking Hoops fans for their early impressions of Hassan, the journalist offered his assessment on social media.
Lowe wrote: “Interesting. Pretty much as expected, then. (Although with slightly fewer flashes of fun than I expected…early maybe? Still time to be an infuriating but exciting cult hero).”
Hassan arrived in Glasgow with a reputation for his ability to take defenders on and provide creativity from wide areas, although he has so far struggled to nail down a regular starting place.
