Rangers first-team analyst Adam Berry has announced his departure from the club after five years at Ibrox, less than a week before the club return to Scottish Premiership action against Kilmarnock.

Berry revealed on LinkedIn that Friday was his final day with Rangers, bringing an end to a journey which began when he joined the club as a student.

The analyst progressed through Rangers' academy setup before moving into the first-team environment in February 2024 under Phillipe Clement.

Announcing his departure, Berry said he was “really proud” of what he had achieved both personally and professionally during his time at the club.

“Friday marked my last day at Rangers Football Club,” Berry wrote.

“I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved personally and professionally over the last five years at the club.

“Progressing from starting as an MSc student, securing a full-time role and working my way through the Academy and into the First Team.”

Berry also paid tribute to the people he worked alongside during his time at Rangers, thanking everyone at the club he had the opportunity to work with.

He confirmed that he will now move on to the next stage of his career, although he has not yet revealed his next destination.

From student to Rangers first-team analyst

Berry's Rangers journey began in August 2021 when he joined the club as an Academy Performance Analyst while completing his studies.

During the 2021/22 campaign, he worked with Rangers' B team in the Scottish Lowland League, providing pre-match, live, post-match and individual analysis.

Then in 2024, Berry made the move into Rangers' first-team setup to become an analyst and held that position until this week.

Berry recently completed UEFA B Licence

His departure comes shortly after Berry announced another significant step in his professional development by completing and passing his UEFA B Licence with the Scottish FA.

The qualification underlined his desire to develop beyond the traditional analyst role and strengthen his understanding of coaching.

Berry explained that the role of an analyst is continually changing and that coaching qualifications are becoming increasingly important in bridging the relationship between coaches and analysts.

“Delighted to have completed and passed the UEFA B Licence with the Scottish Football Association,” Berry wrote.

“The role of the analyst is constantly evolving and coaching badges are becoming more of an importance to helping bridge the gap between the Coach-Analyst relationship.”

He added that he was pleased to have progressed his coaching journey and opened new opportunities for his development.

Berry's career has already included experience outside Rangers, with previous roles at Newcastle United, Carlisle United, Gateshead and England Universities Men's Football setup.

Berry's departure represents another change behind the scenes as the club continues its work under Derek McInnes, with Berry following set piece coach Simon Ireland out of Ibrox.
