Keevins yet again feeding his anti-Celtic narrative
Veteran hack Hugh Keevins is yet again fuelling his anti-Celtic agenda, as he continues to spout his inane drivel through his media platform.
Keevins who only recently tipped the Rangers to win the title by a canter, has once again had a pop at Celtic as he revels in the club’s currently temporarily slump.
Whilst some of his points can be taken on board, the majority of his ‘opinion’ is nothing more than the ramblings of bitter hack toeing the media party line. Whatever else you say about him Keevins understands the way things work in the Scottish mainstream media and is prepared to kick Celtic to keep the coins rolling into his bank account.
Here are some of his latest Daily Record ramblings…
“Celtic are in trouble all over the place. There is doubt over the manager’s future. They have issued financial figures that suggest that they are no longer running the business as successfully as they once did.
“They are losing money through non-qualification of the Champions League, which is becoming an annual event like Christmas, as far as Celtic are concerned.”
And there’s more. “People are looking at the running of the club. The day-to-day running of the club, and thinking, ‘They are losing their way here.’ They are out-of-date as a football club. The interim chairman, who incidentally is still the interim chairman, nine months after assuming that title. At Celtic, things sure move slowly.”
Keevins may have a point regarding the way we are ‘out of date’ in the way we operate our football club, but was way off the mark in his thoughts on the club’s financial matters, with the hack suggesting the business is not as ‘successful’ as once was.
Our profit margins may have taken a hit due to consecutive failures to qualify for the cash laden Champions League, but Celtic is still very much in a healthy financial position, boasting the highest wealth reserves in the country by a considerable distance. In fact Celtic has more money in the bank than all the other clubs in the country put together!
Keevins talks of the annual disappointment of missing out on Champions League football, but what about our rivals across the city? The same ones who haven’t qualified for Europe’s premier competition in the past four years. Remember the heady days when they played Liverpool at Ibrox and released a commemorative framed poster from the match.
What was the score again, anyone remember?
The very same club who despite posting regular losses, spent a small fortune in the past 12 months only to get dumped out of European competition altogether, denying the club of much needed revenue.
Keevins ignores these problems, and never has an opinion on such matters. Indeed the fact that he wasn’t critical of their bad start to the campaign is further proof of his clear anti-Celtic agenda.
He is just finishing off his working days making the most of it regarding his earnings.
Oh I remember now, the score was Rangers 1 Liverpool 7. Embarrassing…
