Celtic’s increasingly strained relationship with sections of the support is facing another test after the Celtic Trust published three proposed resolutions ahead of the club’s 2026 AGM.

It comes at a particularly sensitive time at Parkhead following the protest involving Dermot Desmond at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Celtic responded furiously to that incident, publicly condemning the protest and announcing that it had ended engagement with the Celtic Fans Collective.

However, the board now faces another supporter-led challenge, this time through the formal AGM process.

The Celtic Trust has submitted three proposed resolutions covering the club’s long-term strategy, security operations at Celtic Park and the fallout from last year’s controversial AGM.

Resolution One calls for Celtic to introduce a three-to-five-year strategic plan, while Resolution Two focuses on the club’s security operations at Parkhead.

The third resolution revisits events at the 2025 AGM and calls for an apology over what unfolded at the meeting.

It calls on the Celtic chairman to: “Issue a full and unreserved apology to the shareholders and supporters of Celtic FC for giving a platform at the 2025 AGM to an individual, who holds no role within the governance of Celtic PLC, which he then abused to insult and denigrate our shareholders and our supporters.

“To publicly commit to ensure that such an abuse of the AGM is never allowed to happen again.”
