Celtic told to appoint 'no-nonsense' boss not named Roy Keane

Celtic have been told to stick with the old school if Martin O'Neill decides to walk away from his post. The 74-year-old is under pressure after Celtic's three-game losing streak that included two Old Firm defeats, but he will not be sacked.

O'Neill has given the club too much to be sacked for a bad run, and the club will honour that, which is refreshing. But it doesn't mean O'Neill won't leave of his own accord, and that is on the table by his own admission.

It does not look likely that O'Neill will leave the club at this point, given we are now over a week removed from the last game, but until we hear otherwise, it remains on the table.

If O'Neill does leave, Celtic will have to move pretty quickly to find a replacement, and former Everton keeper Asmir Begovic has backed his old boss Sean Dyche to take the role.

Begovic told Hajper “I have a lot of respect for Sean Dyche and always enjoyed working with him. His staff are brilliant, they are no-nonsense and very direct. You know exactly what to expect, put the work in and you’ll get your rewards.

“I really respect those people, and he would be a great manager for Celtic.He would tidy up any mess and ensure the players are on the same page, fit, and working hard.

“The fan bases can really relate to that, so I hope it happens. He deserves that sort of opportunity after everything he has achieved. We’ll see what happens, he might have to tone down some of the social media stuff, but I would love to see him up there.”
