Camilo Durán's brother offers insight into intense start to life at Celtic
The brother of Celtic signing Camilo Durán has been providing some insight on how the striker is settling into life in Glasgow. It is likely a big change for Durán, who joined from Qarabag during the summer.
Azerbaijan and Glasgow are very different places, and the cultures at both of those clubs also differ significantly. That makes the adaptation period tougher, and especially with how things have gone of late for Celtic.
The Bhoys have lost three straight games, and the pressure on the team and coaching staff has ramped up, especially with two of those defeats being Old Firm losses, while they also come after a four-goal collapse in the Champions League qualifiers.
It has been an intense start, but Durán's brother says he is getting on fine. Gol Caracol spoke to Durán’s brother, Hugo, and he said: "Camilo has taken his move to Scottish football as a new challenge.
“But he’s very happy because he’s been able to settle in quickly with the club, his teammates and his new surroundings.”
Getting Durán back to his best is key
One of Martin O'Neill's priorities as he looks to get his side back to their best has to be getting Durán back to his best form. Earlier in the season, even when the Bhoys were not performing to the best of their ability, Durán was producing and helping to pull the team through.
That has not been helping over the last few weeks, with Durán also struggling for form. O'Neill needs his best players at the peak of their powers, and the Colombian is undoubtedly one of his best players.
Durán was superb both out wide and in the central striker position early in the season, and he currently looks out of place in both. That needs to change, and ideally from the word 'go', against Motherwell this weekend.
