Benjamin Nygren delivers brilliant response after Henrik Larsson’s Celtic admission
It has been a difficult few weeks for Nygren and his Hoops teammates, with three consecutive defeats before the international break piling pressure on Martin O’Neill and his players.
The Sweden international has already opened up on Celtic’s recent struggles, admitting the two defeats to Rangers were particularly difficult to take.
However, Nygren was given something to smile about while away on international duty after being asked about some recent praise from Celtic legend Larsson.
The Hoops legend was recently asked which member of O’Neill’s current squad he would have enjoyed playing alongside.
Larsson said: “I think I would’ve loved to play with Benji.”
Speaking to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen,Nygren laughed: “It would be awkward if he had said someone else.”
“I’ve played with him a lot on FIFA, as I usually buy him as a legend in my team, and link up a bit.
“If you don’t have enough chemistry, the players can’t play at their best. I’ve always tried to buy him in, so I can link up with myself. It’s great to hear and I would have loved to play with him in real life.
“I would’ve found him a lot, so hopefully he could have scored even more goals.”
