The 141st Scottish Cup has reached the semi-final stage
Championship Dunfermline meet Premiership surprise package Falkirk
League Cup winners St Mirren face a rematch against Celtic
The 141st edition of the Scottish Cup has been an eventful one and this weekend's semi-finals are a tantalising pair of clashes.
In the first game, rivals Dunfermline face off against Falkirk in a rematch of the 2009 cup semi-final, which the Bairns won 2-0.
Supporters of the Scottish Championship side with long memories will be hoping to see their heroes enact revenge for that defeat by shocking their top-flight opponents.
Sunday's second semi-final sees a rematch of the League Cup final in which St Mirren shocked Celtic.
The Bhoys will be hoping to avoid a repeat to add more misery to what has already been a disappointing campaign for the record winners of this trophy.
Dunfermline vs Falkirk (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Falkirk have been a real surprise package in the Scottish Premiership this season, finishing in the top six in their first campaign back in the top flight.
The Bairns were in League One just two years ago but their rapid rise has seen them overtake their rivals Dunfermline and that may well be reflected on the pitch.
The Pars are 21 points off the pace in the Championship and while Neil Lennon has won this competition eight times as a player and a manager, his task of guiding this second-tier team to another success looks too much.
Falkirk are unbeaten in the last five meetings between these two teams and they have won three of the last four head-to-heads.
Dunfermline will be without top scorer Andrew Tod, while key defender Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen is also a major doubt.
Falkirk's young attackers seem to be getting better with every passing game, as Barney Stewart and Benjamin Broggio become increasingly influential with 12 goals and three assists between them in just 22 Premiership starts.
The attacking prowess of John McGlynn's side should be too much for their rivals and they are fancied to win this comfortably.
Score prediction: Dunfermline 1-3 Falkirk
Celtic vs St Mirren (Sunday, 2pm)
There has been little for Celtic fans to shout about this season but their penalty shootout win over rivals Rangers at Ibrox in the quarter-finals was certainly a cause for celebration.
The Hoops have had a torrid league campaign and were shocked 3-1 by St Mirren in the League Cup final, so will be desperate to avenge that loss and reach the final of a competition that they have won a record 42 times.
Martin O'Neill's men scraped a recent win over the Buddies 1-0 in the league and this may be another drab affair, with Celtic struggling to find the net with any regularity, scoring only 13 goals in their last 10 games in all competitions.
St Mirren have been in poor form since their cup win and will need another big performance from loanee Jacob Devaney if they are to get anything from this game.
Side with Celtic to grind out a low-scoring victory, as they have done in three of the last four meetings between these two.
Score prediction: Celtic 2-0 St Mirren
