‘Will push hard’: Telegraph journo provides transfer update on concrete Man Utd target for 2027 after failed summer bids
Chelsea have poked their noses in front of Manchester United in the anticipated race for Alex Scott’s signature next year.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea ‘will push hard’ to bring in the Bournemouth starlet after failing in their attempts this summer.

Indeed, the London outfit had an estimated three bids rejected for Scott before 2026/2027 got underway, with Bournemouth standing firm that he was not for sale under any circumstances.
One offer proposed by Chelsea was believed to be in the region of £60 million, which fell well below the Cherries’ valuation.
Now that the 23-year-old has added two senior England caps to his name and is poised to play a pivotal role at club level once again this term, we can only speculate over what kind of fee Bournemouth will be demanding come the end of the season.

Amidst their midfield rebuild throughout the summer window, Scott was a concrete target for United.
However, they eventually accepted that Bournemouth would not budge, and that he would be staying put at the Vitality Stadium, hence signing alternatives.
While the middle of the park won’t be seen as a priority for INEOS in the summer of 2027, there will perhaps be room for improvement if they’re able to facilitate the sale of Manuel Ugarte.
The only reason he was not offloaded this time around was that he sustained a lengthy injury setback while in action for Uruguay at the World Cup, rendering him unavailable for the foreseeable future.
Alas, there remains a chance that the Reds will look to reignite their interest in Scott, whose half-sister Maya Le Tissier captains United’s women’s team, next year, especially if the youngster decides himself that he is ready to explore a venture elsewhere after four years with Bournemouth.
