Aston Villa have signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka on a season-long loan from West Ham, with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent.

The 28-year-old becomes Villa’s latest addition as Unai Emery looks to rebuild his squad in a summer of change at Villa Park.

Wan-Bissaka, who has extensive Premier League experience from spells with Crystal Palace and Manchester United, said he was excited by the opportunity to join Villa.

“I’m really excited. I’m happy to be here and I’m looking forward to getting started,” he said.

“The challenge here is exciting. I’ve seen the ambition of the club and I want to be part of that and help the team achieve its goals.

“I’m ready to give everything for the club and the fans.”

Villa are also targeting more defensive additions, with Ezri Konsa having joined Arsenal in a £55m deal.

Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis is a top target, but Villa have seen a bid of around £18m rejected for the 24-year-old.
