Victor Osimhen is being linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and would be open to heading to Manchester United, reports Football Fancast.
Osimhen was regularly linked with United in recent years, but decided to head to Galatasaray after leaving Napoli. There was a sense he'd moved below his level, and after 61 goals and 16 assists in 75 games, he's again being linked with the Red Devils.
A move to the Premier League is said to appeal to Osimhen, and it's reported United have made an enquiry, gathering information on what it would take to sign the Nigerian.
Amid those talks, it's reported an understanding has been reached where Osimhen would be willing to head to Old Trafford.
It's not made clear what United would have to do to land him, but a recent £111million offer from Al-Hilal which is said to have been rejected is noted in the report, suggesting it would take a large fee to prise Osimhen away.
However, there are also reports that the Saudi side won't be able to properly pursue a new striker until Karim Benzema is off the books, so whether that offer really was made is unclear.
Osimhen has options in England
Osimhen has also been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham of late, with a Spurs transfer detailed by insider Ben Jacobs.
He said: “I think there’s a fair chance at the end of this that Victor Osimhen actually stays, even though the Tottenham links are part of their wider search for a forward.
“My information there is Cody Gakpo and Savinho for Spurs, if they can possibly pull those two off.
“Wages still a bit of an issue for Osimhen even though Tottenham are showing they’re prepared to break their wage structure.
“So yes Tottenham want a No.9, but nothing advanced yet with Osimhen.”
Amid the Nigerian's openness to head to the Premier League, that's a deal which could be done.
But United have been told by legendary former defender Patrice Evra that Osimhen is the man for them.
He said: “A striker, someone who scores a goal. I think that's what I'm looking at. That's why for me, Osimhen is the best. He’s a perfect example."
