Tottenham Transfer News: Six Strikers Spurs Could Sign Before September Deadline

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes next month. Spurs have already been active in the market, bolstering at the back and in midfield. However, the frontline remains untouched.

Supporters are hoping it’s strengthened sooner rather than later. The new Premier League season kicks off in a little over two weeks’ time. Spurs can ill-afford to go into the 2026/27 campaign with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke as their first-choice frontmen.

It’s surely only a matter of time before Spurs delve back into the market to bolster in the final third. Savinho remains a priority target, yet a forward to lead the charge in Roberto De Zerbi’s favoured 4-2-3-1 setup is key.

Here, we’ve picked out six forward Spurs could target in the coming weeks to strengthen their attack.

Cody Gakpo

The Liverpool forward is believed to rank top of Roberto De Zerbi’s attacking wishlist. Cody Gakpo didn’t have the most prolific Premier League campaign. In the Reds’ doomed title defence, the Dutchman managed just seven goals and a further five assists while operating predominantly from the left flank.

In truth, it was a sub-par season for all at Anfield, and one that ultimately cost Arne Slot his job on Merseyside. Liverpool have, feasibly, already signed a replacement for Gakpo in Victor Munoz, Andoni Iraola’s side gazumping Newcastle to the signing of the 2026 World Cup winner.

Gakpo, though, would likely arrive to lead the charge rather than play out wide. It would mean his lack of pace won’t be quite so clear and obvious, all the while maximising his goalscoring capabilities.

Nicolas Jackson

Tottenham’s Football.London correspondent Alasdair Gold rubbished links with a move for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson on Tuesday. The Senegal international is expected to leave the Blues this summer having spent last season on loan at German giants Bayern Munich.

Jackson played second fiddle to star striker Harry Kane, and it meant game time was limited. Despite a lack of regular first-team action, however, the Senegal international still managed a commendable eight goals and one assist across 1004 Bundesliga minutes.

Jackson isn’t your conventional number 9 either. With a willingness to pull wide and drag markers out of position, he’d be perfectly suited to lead the charge in Roberto De Zerbi’s favoured 4-2-3-1 setup. While Chelsea may be reluctant to sell Jackson to their rivals, he’d be a smart pick up for the north London side.

Victor Osimhen

It’s almost criminal that Victor Osimhen hasn’t plied his trade in the Premier League. The Nigerian is one of Europe’s best strikers, even if he doesn’t play in one of the continents’ top leagues.

The 27-year-old scored 15 times and provided five assists for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig last season, this despite starting just 19 of a possible 34 matches, as the Lions won the title once more.

A move for Osimhen feels like a pipedream. Sources suggested a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a possibility earlier this week, though rumours of a high-profile move to England are likely to remain just that. Even so, Osimhen would be a statement signing and then some for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Dusan Vlahovic

Injury late last year ended any hopes of Juventus commanding a fee for Dusan Vlahovic in January. The Serbian hitman was restricted to just 11 starts in Serie A last season. And yet, Vlahovic managed a respectable seven league goals.

Now a free agent after his Juventus departure, Vlahovic remains without a club, though there is interest in his services. Turkish side Trabzonspor had been keeping tabs on the former Fiorentina man. Mohamed Salah’s move to the Super Lig side may end their chances of signing the 26-year-old, however.

Vlahovic is more of a traditional number 9 than the 9-and-a-half that Roberto De Zerbi prefers, but with no transfer fee attached, it’s fairly low risk. The striker’s wage demands may impact a move for the Serbia international, but in turn; he’d be an improvement on the goalscoring options at De Zerbi’s disposal.

Orri Oskarsson

A left-field choice, Orri Oskarsson wasn’t a first-team regular for Real Sociedad last season. That’s hardly a surprise given Mikel Oyarzabal is the leading man for the Basque side. However, Oskarsson still managed nine goals across 831 minutes of game time in the 2025/26 La Liga campaign.

Of those to score at least five times, the Icelander had the second best minutes per goal return in Spain’s top tier last term. And having scored nine times in 18 outings for the Iceland national team, one thing is clear is that the 21-year-old knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.

What’s more, Oskarsson is a handy link up man who isn’t afraid to put himself about, evident in that he committed 1.6 fouls per 90 in La Liga last season. The young Real Sociedad forward could be a fine fit for the north London side.

Endrick

Having struggled for game time in the first half of last season, Endrick was permitted to secure a loan move to Lyon for the second half of the campaign. The Brazilian maximised his time in France to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s 2026 World Cup squad.

The 20-year-old scored five times and laid on seven assists for the Ligue 1 outfit in a profitable loan spell. The issue, now, is whether Endrick will have the chance to consolidate a starting spot at parent side Real Madrid.

Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho is able to call upon Kylian Mbappe already, while the Spanish side have also brought in another young striker having secured the services of Carlos Espi from Levante. The latter’s arrival is expected to push Endrick further down the pecking order. A Bernabeu exit is now wholly possible, and for a striker who describes him as a “number 9 with the soul of a number 10”, Spurs could do a lot worse than pursue “Bobby”.
