Tottenham still interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White after England recall

Tottenham retain an interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White after his England recall, reports Football Insider.
Spurs are currently the worst side in the Premier League. With just two draws from the first five games of the season, Roberto De Zerbi's side are rock bottom.
The sum north of £300million that he spent on new talent in the summer has so far returned very little, and it's tough to see what changes can be made.
There are once again links with Gibbs-White, who Tottenham thought they had an agreement to sign a couple of summers ago, before Forest threatened legal action for what they felt was an unlawful approach.
Pete O'Rourke believes Spurs still want the Englishman.
He said: "They tried hard two summers ago to sign Gibbs-White and it got a bit ugly in the end with the Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, threatening legal action before he ended up tying down Gibbs-White to a new contract which made him the highest-paid player at the club.
"That showed how much faith Forest had in him and how important he is to their plans going forward as well. I'm sure that Tottenham's interest still remains in Gibbs-White."
In-form Morgan Gibbs-White gets England recall
Gibbs-White has just been handed a recall to the England side, after he last played for the Three Lions in late 2025 - one of only six international appearances to this point.
The Forest man was not in Thomas Tuchel's original squad for the coming international break, but when Cole Palmer was sidelined through injury, Gibbs-White got the call.
He will join fellow playmakers Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze in the squad - all of whom went to the World Cup.
Tuchel didn't want too many No.10s in his original squad, stating: “It makes no sense to nominate three, four, five, number 10s. It just does not help anyone.
“We can see the form that Morgan is in and he ended the season very, very strongly and was the key player for Forest to not be relegated. We can see him stepping up now.”
Gibbs-White has scored once and assisted twice in the Premier League this season, and after a 15-goal campaign last term, seems deserving of a spot given Palmer will be unable to participate.
