Tottenham are not planning to sell left-back Destiny Udogie amid injury problems during his time at the club, reports Football Insider.
Spurs have seen a lot of moves for defenders this summer, and there could be more to come. They've signed Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke, and have let Radu Dragusin leave on loan, while selling Luka Vuskovic.
There's speculation over the future of full-back Djed Spence, who's said to be open to moving to Inter Milan.
But fellow full-back Udogie won't be going anywhere, despite being burdened by injuries during his time at Tottenham, which have kept him out of pre-season fixtures.
It's reported that the club are willing to stay patient with him and help him through his latest injury, rather than planning to sell in the coming years.
The Italian is said to be highly regarded as a player with great potential, and therefore Tottenham don't want to see him go.
The club's stance is helped by that of new manager Roberto De Zerbi, who's said to be a big fan of Udogie and sees him as a crucial part of his plans at the club.
Tottenham can be cautious with Udogie
While he's currently going through injury problems, it's reported Spurs can be cautious with Udogie's injuries better than in previous seasons, given the options they have in his position.
New signing from Liverpool, Robertson, is expected to start the season at left-back, while Souza remains in the squad - though he's been linked with an exit.
Englishman Spence has played both left and right-back for Tottenham during his time there, though his future will depend on if Inter are able to agree a fee for his transfer.
They are not said to be willing to go above £30million in negotiations, while Spurs are known to want around £40million, so that transfer is currently up in the air.
Even if Spence leaves, other than Udogie, there are two more options at left-back, so the club aren't going to rush the Italian back from his latest injury.
That could be the best for his potential success this season, and that Robertson has joined is a big tick as he gives an option but, at 32, might not expect to start every game.
