Slegers admits disappointment after Arsenal drop points against Palace
Renée Slegers admits Arsenal must be critical of themselves after they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners dominated for long periods but were unable to find the breakthrough as Palace frustrated Slegers’ side.
“Disappointed of course, we were here to take three points,” the Arsenal boss said. “That’s what we were set to do, that’s what we expect from ourselves.
“We weren’t successful from that perspective, and that’s the most important, the result.”
Slegers was encouraged by elements of Arsenal’s performance but admitted their failure to convert their dominance into goals ultimately cost them two points.
“Yes, there were really good things in our performance, some real positives,” she continued.
“I think we had around 30 shots and plenty of box entries, but the ball didn’t go into the net, so we’re critical of ourselves.
“We will bring things that we did well today into next weekend. Of course, critical and disappointed of not getting the three points today.”
