Manchester United teenager JJ Gabriel has reportedly found a way out of Carrington amidst growing interest from European giants.

The young forward might be the most famous 16-year-old footballer on the globe, as he’s been captivating fans with his exceptional displays for the Red Devils’ youth teams.

But sadly for United, it was revealed last month that Gabriel is determined to leave the club due to ‘broken promises’ regarding his playing time and overall role with the first team.

How JJ Gabriel plans to leave Man Utd in January

On Tuesday, Gabriel is celebrating his 16th birthday, which could be a game changer in the transfer saga.

Man Utd, who have the striker under contract until the end of the season, have thus far refused to release him prematurely.

Nevertheless, a loophole in the rules could allow him to escape Carrington during the course of the season, as players with European passports have the right to rescind their contract and join an academy outside the United Kingdom once they turn 16.

According to Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenburg, Gabriel’s entourage is currently working on acquiring a Cypriot passport for the player.

The teenager has been representing England on the international stage, but his father is Irish, while his mother is a Greek Cypriot.

The source believes Gabriel will receive his passport ‘very soon’, paving the way for a January free transfer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have made ‘very concrete’ offers, offering the attacker an ‘XXL’ salary package and sign-on fees, while Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain continue to keep tabs.

Man Utd resign to losing Gabriel

At this stage, almost every reliable source agrees that Man Utd have failed to reconcile with Gabriel and his entourage, making his departure a matter of time.

United’s refusal to grant the player leave will only delay his exit for a short while, as the regulations will play in the youngster’s favour.

Unfortunately for MUFC, this is the sort of story that hardly has an upside, as the club is about to lose one of the most exciting teenagers in the world on a free transfer.
