Manchester City's revolving door is set to witness another player leave the Etihad this summer after Tottenham Hotspur agreed a massive £85million deal to sign Savinho, making him their sixth major sale of the summer after Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, James Trafford, Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.

Spurs are set to pay £75million upfront, with another £10million in potential add-ons, which if reached, would make him City's biggest sale in history by eclipsing the previous record held by Julian Alvarez's £82million transfer to Atletico Madrid.

According to The Athletic, the Brazilian is set to undergo a medical on Friday following which he will be signing a five-year contract with the option of extending it further by another year.

As City gear up to see another player depart, here's what it could mean for them:

1) A massive financial win for City

Manchester City had bought Savinho for a meager £21million from Troyes in 2024. To now sell him off for a staggering £85million - four times his buying price - represents an enormous profit on their original investment. It may as well become their biggest sale in history, underlining the club's shrewdness in the transfer market.

2) Less selection headache for Maresca

Savinho's departure may not be a tactical blow for Enzo Maresca, whose options are set to get clearer. Although the Brazilian accrued 53 appearances in the league for City, he only made seven starts last season under Pep Guardiola.

It was a clear indication that the forward wasn't really a part of their long-term plans and selling him off thereby makes perfect sense. But more importantly, Maresca can now focus on just those players he wants to build his offensive vanguard around, instead of being saddled with the task of reintegrating a player who had fallen out of favor.

3) Another Cole Palmer in making?

Savinho may not have been a regular starter for them, but there's a risk in watching him turn out to be another transfer mistake like that of Cole Palmer. The forward wasn't given enough first-team opportunities and got sold to Chelsea, where he found his best form and made City regret overlooking his talent.

At just 22 years of age, Savinho is another young and promising prospect who can explode with the right kind of opportunities. Should he too catapult himself to stardom at Spurs, the Sky Blues will be left to face the ignominy of another misjudged transfer.
