Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage expects Dean Henderson to return after the international break.
Henderson missed Palace’s 3-2 defeat to Ipswich, with Sage explaining that the pain from an injury suffered in Freiburg in pre-season had become too severe for him to continue playing.
“He played injured from the beginning of the season because he was injured in Freiburg,” Sage said. “He played with that. He didn’t train too much but he played well.
“But the pain is too hard for the moment and we don’t have to take a risk.”
Sage is hopeful Henderson’s absence will be a short one, with the Palace boss targeting their game against Nottingham Forest after the international break for his return.
“I think he will be back for Nottingham Forest,” he added.
