Real Madrid receive €11.5m as Chema Andres joins Brighton

While the new signings have been the most exciting aspect of the 2026 summer transfer window for Real Madrid fans, another very notable aspect of this transfer window has been the club’s business with its youth talents. The Merengues have brought in a significant amount, more than €200 million, from the transfers of La Fabrica-trained players only this summer.

The most notable of these transfers have been those of Nico Paz, who signed for Como for €66 million, Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, who signed for Fulham for €40 million and €10 million, respectively, and Jacobo Ortega, who brought in another €10 million to Los Blancos’ coffers with his move to Strasbourg.

Real Madrid continued to gain from their academy-trained talent till the very last day of the transfer market. As MARCA has reported, they have earned another €11.5 million, as Brighton and Hove Albion completed the transfer of Chema Andres from Stuttgart for €23 million on deadline day of the transfer market.

The Merengues had transferred the player to the Bundesliga side for €6 million last year, but kept 50% of his rights. Thus, they have obtained half of the fee Brighton paid for him this summer. However, Los Blancos have now lost any future rights on the player, while Stuttgart has retained the right to get a percentage of any future transfer fee paid for him.

The 21-year-old midfielder had a good first season in the Bundesliga, as he made 39 appearances. During this season, he scored a total of four goals, three of which came in the league, and provided another two assists.

With his transfer this summer, Chema Andres joins a team that particularly specializes in acquiring and developing young talent, and he will also get to play in one of the most competitive leagues in Europe, the Premier League. Hopefully, this will only turn out to be a good move for him, and he will continue to grow and will reach great heights in his career.
