With the Premier League returning on Friday, some teams will undoubtedly find life harder in the top flight than others.

Scrutiny will be on the promoted trio of Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City to see if they can avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Last season's big overachievers, Sunderland, face a huge ask in their quest to get anywhere near their incredible seventh-place finish last season.

It will be intriguing to see how Regis Le Bris' side fare, as they manage their new Europa League commitments.

Meanwhile, Fulham begin a new era under Alvaro Arbeloa. Can the Spaniard continue to build on the foundations laid by his predecessor Marco Silva?

Without further ado, let's delve into the Livescore relegation markets.

Hull City

The Tigers have roared back into the Premier League with a promotion which barely seemed possible at the start of last season.

After securing Championship survival on the final day of the 2024/25 campaign, Sergej Jankovic led to his side to a sixth-place finish and victory over Middlesbrough in the play-off final.

It could be a very tough campaign on Humberside this season though, and there will be plenty of concerns surrounding Hull's porous defence.

Their 66 goals conceded in the Championship last season was the highest in the top half of the table, and seven more than relegated Oxford United!

However, the arrivals of some much-needed top-flight experience in Jack Butland and Matt Targett could be beneficial to their survival push.

At these odds, there's not much value in backing Hull for the drop.

Hull to be relegated (1-3) @1/4

Hull in bottom place @6/5

Coventry City

Frank Lampard's side are back in the top flight after a 25-year absence, during a time when their long-suffering supporters were dragged through the mire.

After an exile in Northampton and playing in League Two as recently as eight years ago, Sky Blues fans will be incredibly grateful to see their team back in the big time so soon.

Survival will be no mean feat, but Coventry have recruited wisely this summer to give themselves the best-possible chance of doing so.

Taiwo Awoniyi arrives from Nottingham Forest, while impressive young shot-stopper Carl Rushworth's loan from Brighton & Hove Albion has been turned into a permanent move.

Nevertheless, their recent lack of top-flight pedigree means their odds to return the Championship are rather short.

Coventry City to be relegated (1-3) @4/6

Coventry City in bottom place @11/4

Ipswich Town

The Tractor Boys were promoted back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, but the nature of their return was not as convincing compared to two years previously.

An Ipswich side led by the now-departed Kieran McKenna came second, but only a solitary point clear of Millwall in the play-off lottery.

Their legendary boss has been replaced in the dugout by Gary O'Neil, who will be hoping to do what McKenna couldn't and establish the Suffolk side in the top flight.

A relatively sturdy defence that conceded 47 goals in the Championship was a total only bettered by champions Coventry, and continuing in a similar vain will be crucial to their survival hopes.

The big-money arrivals of Abdul Fatawu and Julio Enciso also show a statement of intent, but as reflected in our odds, staying up will be a mammoth challenge.

Ipswich Town to be relegated (1-3) @4/6

Ipswich Town in bottom place @3/1

Sunderland

The Black Cats had more than a stroke of luck in the last campaign, surging from 12th to seventh in their final two games to secure Europa League qualification.

Competing on the continent for the first time in 53 years would be beyond the wildest of dreams for even the most optimistic of Sunderland supporters, but could everything be about to come crashing down to earth on Wearside?

A much more hectic fixture schedule will test a squad that has been very light on reinforcements heading into the opening weekend of the season.

Belgium international Thomas Meunier remains their only first-team arrival at the time of writing, and Regis Le Bris will be hoping for more addition ahead of the September 1 deadline.

If not, the Black Cats could finish the season with tails between their legs.

Sunderland to be relegated (1-3) @3/1

Sunderland in bottom place @22/1

Fulham

The Cottagers were within touching distance of securing European football last season, but a disappointing 1-1 draw with already-relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers in their penultimate game proved very costly.

An 11th-place finish was secured, and Fulham would do well to replicate that feat under new manager, Arbeloa.

After a turbulent stint at Real Madrid, it remains to be seen how the Spaniard will fare, as he takes the reins from Silva.

The influential duo of Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez have departed to Leeds United and Wolves respectively, but former Real starlets, Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, have both arrived.

Shea Charles has also come through the doors for what could rise to a £30 million fee from Southampton, but the jury is still very much out on the west Londoners.

At these odds, a flutter on Fulham to go down could be a decent shout.

Fulham to be relegated (1-3) @5/1

Fulham in bottom place @20/1

A cheeky outside punt

Those who of you who fancy a mischievous punt should look no further than Manchester City's eye-catching price @14/1 to be relegated and @25/1 to finish bottom. With the ongoing turmoil concerning their 115 Financial Fair Play (FFP) charges, speculation concerning the threat of a hefty points deduction or even relegation from the division, looms large.
