Newcastle drew 2-2 with Tottenham in midweek
Burnley have gone five matches without a Premier League victory
Recommended bet: Newcastle to win and both teams to score
Newcastle were denied a victory against Tottenham in midweek as Cristian Romero scored a late overhead kick to secure a share of the points.
That result leaves the Magpies 12th in the Premier League table, five points outside of the Champions League places.
Burnley haven’t won in the top flight since a 3-2 victory against Wolves at the end of October. As such, they remain in the relegation places, four points from safety.

Team news
Eddie Howe will be without Nick Pope. The goalkeeper faces three weeks out and will join the likes of Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Will Osula and Yoane Wissa on the treatment table.
Sandro Tonali was withdrawn against Spurs with a suspected knock and a late fitness test will be done to gauge whether he is available or not.
For the away side, Scott Parker will be missing Axel Tuanzebe. Elsewhere, Jordan Beyer, Conor Roberts and Zeki Amoundi are also out injured and will miss the clash at St James’ Park.
The stats
Newcastle have won the previous four Premier League meetings between the sides, scoring nine goals in the process.
The last time Burnley won a league game against the Magpies was nearly six years ago to the day. That 1-0 win in December 2019 saw Chris Wood net a second half winner at Turf Moor.
Newcastle have only won five league matches this season, just two more than their opponents.
Howe’s side have scored more goals than only eight other teams in the top flight, conceding 18 times across 14 matches so far this season.
Burnley have the joint third-worst attacking record in the division, finding the back of the net on just 15 occasions.
Defensively, a total of 28 goals conceded is the second worst in the top flight, with only Wolves conceding more.
Both teams have scored in four of the previous six matchups between these clubs in the Premier League.
This season, eight of Newcastle’s 14 league games have featured both teams scoring, with seven of Burnley’s matches having seen each team scoring.

Prediction
Newcastle will still be reeling from conceding that late goal against Spurs. As such, Howe will be looking for his side to bounce back at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
The Magpies have goals in them, no doubt about that, but their defence has looked shaky at times this season.
Burnley might be able to take advantage of this in order to make things interesting, but ultimately, the home sides should simply have too much firepower for a leady Clarets defence.
