Manchester United host West Ham at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Thursday night as the Red Devils bid to follow up their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Following Tuesday's action, Ruben Amorim’s side sit seventh, just three points off the top four.

The Hammers, meanwhile, are enduring a season of struggle, winning just two of their last 10 games and suffered a 2-0 home defeat against champions Liverpool last time out.

Team news

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim expects to have Matheus Cunha available after the Brazilian missed the last two games with a head injury picked up in training.

However, fellow forward Benjamin Sesko is out with a knee issue while centre-back Harry Maguire is also sidelined with a thigh problem.

West Ham will be without playmaker Lucas Paqueta following his sending off for two bookings against Liverpool.

Forward Crysencio Summerville is sidelined for the trip to Old Trafford with a knock which has forced him to miss the last two matches.

Left-back Oliver Scarles is still recovering from surgery after breaking his collarbone against Leeds in October.

The stats

Manchester United have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six Premier League matches.

West Ham have won four of their last five games against Manchester United in the Premier League having managed just three victories in the previous 28 clashes with the Red Devils.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 17 midweek home matches (winning 14 and drawing three times), last losing against Liverpool in May 2021.

The Red Devils and West Ham have not drawn any of their last 14 encounters.

Prediction

Manchester United appear to be showing greater consistency this season while reacting to setbacks with more positive results under manager Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils were disappointed to lose 1-0 at home to an Everton side who played with 10 men for more than 75 minutes last week but they responded with a fine 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

United are just three points off fourth place in a packed Premier League table and will be hoping Old Trafford will give them an advantage over a West Ham side who have managed just two victories in their last 10 matches.

The Hammers head north as underdogs and will likely have to rely on talisman Jarrod Bowen if they are to take anything from the game.

The home side are favourites but it may also be worth backing both teams to score on Thursday evening.

Amorim's men have failed to keep a clean sheet in six matches while four of West Ham’s last five games have seen both sides find the net.
