  • Forest are on a nine-game unbeaten run across all competitions

  • Chelsea have won just two of their last 10 games

  • Recommended bet: Nottingham Forest double chance

Chelsea secured a place in the FA Cup final last weekend in their first game since Liam Rosernior was relieved of his duties as manager and they now face the task of ending a five-game losing run in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest.

The visitors are in form but have the second leg of their huge all-British Europa League semi-final to come against Aston Villa on Thursday — although they cannot afford to focus solely on that game.

Forest are yet to secure Premier League survival and head to Stamford Bridge still needing to add to their points total.

Team news

Chelsea will be without Filip Jorgensen, Jamie Gittens and Estevao but there could be returns for Reece James and Levi Colwill.

James has been missing since March with a hamstring injury and Colwill is close to making a comeback after a long stint on the sidelines with an ACL injury — both could be in contention for a place on the bench.

Forest will definitely be without Nicolo Savona, Callum Hudson-Odoi, John Victor and Willy Boly.

Dan Ndoye, Ibrahim Sangare, Jair Cunha and Murillo are all doubts and are unlikely to feature, but Ola Aina could be involved despite coming off with a knock against Villa in Europe.

The stats

Nottingham Forest are on a four-game winning run across all competitions.

Chelsea last won a Premier League game in March.

Chelsea have won just six of their 17 home league games this season.

Nottingham Forest have picked up seven points from their last three away games.

The Londoners won the reverse fixture 3-0 at the City Ground in October.

Prediction

Chelsea put in a strong performance in their first game since Rosenior’s exit at Wembley against Leeds in the cup and will be looking to follow that up with a Premier League success on Monday, but Forest look capable of taking at least a point.

The visitors cannot afford to look ahead to their European fixture at Villa as they still need points to guarantee league survival, and Forest boss Vitor Pereira should name his strongest available starting line-up on Monday.

Forest are the team in the far better form here as they are on a four-game winning streak across all competitions and are unbeaten in nine.

They also have a reasonable away record for the season and have just about been better on their travels than they have at home, with 21 of their 39 points coming away from home.

Forest have seven points to show from their last three trips and those games have included a point at title challengers Manchester City and a win at drop rivals Tottenham.

Chelsea have lost their last five league games and they may stop the rot on Monday, but they may have to settle for a point against this in-form Forest side who are still scrapping for survival.
