Eddie Howe's Newcastle have a perfect pick-me-up after being thrashed by Barcelona as they host Sunderland.
  • Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 10 league matches

  • Everton have scored just 18 goals in 15 home league games

  • Sunderland have netted eight goals in 15 away league outings

With top two Arsenal and Manchester City locking horns in the EFL Cup final on Sunday, Premier League attention turns to the battle to avoid the drop this weekend, particularly Tottenham’s massive home game against Nottingham Forest on the same day.

It is the final opportunity for valuable points before the international break and Ian Wilkerson has correct‑score picks for all eight Premier League matches.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United (8pm, Friday)

Seven wins from their last nine matches have given Manchester United a great chance of claiming Champions League qualification for next season, but they face a tough trip to Bournemouth and may have to settle for a share of the spoils.

The Cherries are unbeaten in their last 10 league games, so backing an entertaining draw could prove good value at the Vitality on Friday.

Score prediction: Bournemouth 2-2 Manchester United

Brighton vs Liverpool (12.30pm, Saturday)

A defeat to bottom-of-the-table Wolves and a home draw with struggling Tottenham have not gone down well with the Liverpool faithful and they could have a tough time against Brighton.

The Seagulls have won three of their last four league games, the exception was a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal and they can pull off a surprise win, even though the Reds secured their passage to the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek.

Score prediction: Brighton 2-1 Liverpool

Fulham vs Burnley (3pm, Saturday)

Fulham have lost to West Ham and drawn with Nottingham Forest in their last two league games, but they should have enough to see off Burnley, who have lost 10 of 15 away league games this season.

The Clarets can be competitive after recent draws at Chelsea and Liverpool, but the Cottagers should come out on top.

Score prediction: Fulham 3-1 Burnley

Everton vs Chelsea (5.30pm, Saturday)

Chelsea were dumped out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, but they can bounce back from that defeat and a loss to Newcastle United in their last league game.

The Blues have scored more away goals (30) than any other Premier League outfit, while hosts Everton have scored just 18 goals in 15 on their own patch.

Score prediction: Everton 0-2 Chelsea

Leeds vs Brentford (8pm, Saturday)

Leeds United are not out of the relegation dogfight just yet and look vulnerable against Brentford after five games without a win and three without a goal.

The Bees allowed a two-goal lead to slip against Wolves on Monday, but they have lost just one in seven and can come out on top at Elland Road.

Score prediction: Leeds 1-2 Brentford

Newcastle vs Sunderland (12pm, Sunday)

Newcastle have been boosted by league wins over Man Utd and Chelsea and should avenge their 1-0 defeat at Sunderland earlier in the season, despite their 7-2 midweek Champions League thrashing by Barcelona.

The Black Cats have lost four of their last six league matches and scored just eight away league goals so far this term.

Score prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Sunderland

Aston Villa vs West Ham (2.15pm, Sunday)

Aston Villa's top-four quest is faltering after losses to Wolves, Chelsea and Man Utd and this could prove a tough assignment.

West Ham are making a strong fight against the drop – they have lost one of their last six – and they should have taken confidence from last week's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Score prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 West Ham

Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest (2.15pm, Sunday)

Tottenham have won just two home league games all season and will be desperate to see off Nottingham Forest and they will have taken a lot from last week's 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Forest have not won any of their last seven league games and could find Spurs too strong, especially with the Lilywhites having won 3-2 at home to Atletico Madrid in midweek.

Score prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Nottingham Forest
