• Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, closing a 10-year spell that began in summer 2016 after his move from Bayern Munich.

Guardiola to Leave Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will leave Man City at the end of the season, a year before his contract expires in 2027.

Guardiola arrived in Manchester in 2016 from Bayern Munich, having already built elite records at Barcelona. He leaves after a decade in charge.

Manchester City are set to name the expanded North Stand, The Pep Guardiola stand and commision a statue of the Spaniard at the Ethihad Stadium.

Guardiola has won 20 major honours at Manchester City. The list includes six Premier League titles, one Champions League trophy, three FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.

The 2022-23 season delivered the defining European moment. City won the Champions League, beating Inter in the Champions League final, and added the Premier League and FA Cup to complete the treble.

City also won five EFL cups and three FA Cups across Guardiola’s tenure.

The 2017-18 “Centurions” Premier League season remains a highlight of his career: 100 points, 106 goals, a +79 goal difference and an 18-match winning row in the league. City also reached 500 Premier League points in 213 matches under Guardiola, a record pace for an English top-flight boss. Enzo Maresca to Replace Pep Guardiola

Enzo Maresca has been chosen to replace Guardiola at Manchester City.

Maresca has previously worked with Guardiola at City, including roles connected to the academy and Guardiola’s senior environment. He then managed Leicester City, winning the Championship and promotion back to the Premier League, before taking the job at Chelsea. At Chelsea, Maresca won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup, but his spell also included instability before his exit.

This summer is set to be significant for Manchester City, with both Bernardo Silva and John Stones also leaving the club alongside Guardiola.
