Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham early injury news as 4 ruled out and 3 doubts
Tottenham are back in action on Saturday when they make the trip to the East Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest. Spurs are winless in the league after two games, losing both, and the pressure is going to start to build quickly if Roberto De Zerbi cannot get some early season momentum going.
Spurs have spent huge money this summer, so there is a clear expectation for them to challenge for Europe, and while there is no panic yet, fans and the board are going to want to see some wins.
Forest, for their part, have won one and lost one, but their draw came against Liverpool, so they clearly have the potential to be a threat. Ahead of Saturday's game, we have rounded up all the early injury news surrounding both teams.
Nicolo Savona - Out
Savona could now be out until October with a knee issue. Glasner said over a week ago: "We thought he would be further than where he is now. He had a minor setback after his knee reacted more with the load than we wanted. We had to take a step back, so he’s working in the gym again and working on his knee to get back on the grass. I think it will take a couple of weeks."
Ibraham Sangare - Doubt
Glasner said last week: "But Ibrahim has picked up a minor calf injury in Wednesday’s training session and will miss tomorrow’s game." It's hoped Sangare can return here.
Xavi Simons - Out
Simons is going to be out until some time in the new year after his ACL rupture last season.
Wilson Odobert- Out
Odobert is going to be out until late November to early December after rupturing his ACL at an earlier date than Simons.
James Maddison - Doubt
De Zerbi said when Maddison picked up his shoulder issue: "James has not a big problem, but pain in the left shoulder. He’s working, but I don't know if he's available for tomorrow. I think with James, we have to find the right plan. We have to work consistently for three, four weeks, and then he's a different player." Maddison could be back this weekend.
Savinho - Doubt
It's a similar story to Savinho, who picked up a small issue after arriving at Spurs and playing in his debut De Zerbi said over the weekend: "Savio was another tough player who didn’t play. After the press conference [on Friday], the medical staff came to me to inform [me that] Savio didn’t feel good, a small muscular problem... Maybe Mon or Tues he can start with us, but the medical staff didn’t want to take any risk with him, especially because he didn’t work or do training in the last 15 days with Man City."
Dejan Kulusevski - Out
It's unclear when Kulusevski will be back, but after spending over a year out, he is back in training. A social post from the attacker read: "After 477 days, I came back to full team training. Everything is impossible until [it] is not. Want to see a miracle."
