"No one told me" - Gabriel Jesus loudly threw Arsenal under the bus after his shock transfer

Gabriel Jesus completed his transfer from Arsenal to Barcelona late in the summer window, and just as everyone expected, he didn't know too much about the deal.

It was a shock to most people. Despite many believing he was on the chopping block, he was still playing for Arsenal in pre-season. It also got to the seeming point of no return in the summer transfer window, but lo and behold, a space opened up for him at one of the biggest clubs in the world, Barcelona.

Having already made his Barcelona debut, Jesus adds yet another established European club to his impressive CV. Still, he elaborated further on his transfer away from Arsenal.

Gabriel Jesus knew very little about his transfer away from Arsenal

"I was training," began Jesus. "I did all the pre-season with Arsenal as normal. I already knew that I probably would not get an opportunity, but no one told me anything."

"I'm a professional. I was training with the group, and then, from nothing, they put me to train away from the group. I was doing my maximum to be ready if I had a chance to play, and then the last week went by very quickly."

Arsenal got a lot right in the summer transfer window, but they were criticised for how they treated some players who had given a lot to the club. Ian Wright publicly criticised Arsenal for how they isolated Gabriel Martinelli at the start of this season, and as Jesus pointed out, he got the same treatment.

Gabriel Jesus gave a lot to Arsenal. While his activity was limited in the final stages of his North London career, his performances never dried up when he was given opportunities.

The same awe and wonder he caused within the crowd whenever he was on the ball was still felt, and to close out his chapter by putting yet another Premier League medal around his neck was quite telling.

In many ways, Jesus transformed Arsenal. Signing him and his teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City was genuinely game-changing. They raised the level, and they gave Arsenal fans reason to believe they could win the title.

There is every possibility that Arsenal and Jesus will meet again in the Champions League. Arsenal and Barcelona are in contention to win the entire competition, so depending on how the brackets fall, they will probably meet each other at some stage.

Until then, and only until then, Arsenal fans will be rooting for his every success. There remains no bad blood between the player and the fanbase.
