Newcastle United duo nearing returns after rejoining team training

Nico Gonzalez and Joelinton have handed Newcastle United a boost after returning to first-team training.

Gonzalez missed the win over Hull City before the international break after taking a knock, while Joelinton has yet to play for Matthias Jaissle’s side this season.

But both are nearing returns to action and could be fit to face Coventry City when the Premier League resumes.

However, Will Osula, Dan Burn, Jacob Ramsey, Anthony Elanga, Tino Livramento and Amar Dedic were not part of the group.
