The Premier League dominated the 2026 summer transfer window, but some of the world's most expensive transfers still took place away from England's top flight.

From Real Madrid's £107m deal for Yan Diomande to Barcelona's double swoop for Rodri and Anthony Gordon, huge fees were spent across Europe and beyond.

Here are the five most expensive summer signings made by clubs outside the Premier League.

Crysencio Summerville - West Ham to Al-Hilal (£60m)

Al-Hilal swooped in to steal Crysencio Summerville from under the noses of Premier League clubs, offering relegated West Ham United around £60m for his services.

The Dutchman was a positive performer in a tough season for the Hammers, who reluctantly accepted Summerville would not stick around in the second tier.

Goncalo Ramos - Paris Saint-Germain to AC Milan (£63.4m)

AC Milan's move for Goncalo Ramos was a bold statement of intent, as the Italians broke their transfer record to land the Paris Saint-Germain poacher.

Ramos had struggled for status in Paris, with Ruben Amorim hoping his compatriot can spearhead a Scudetto charge with more minutes in Milan.

Rodri - Manchester City to Barcelona (£65.4m)

Rodri's desire for a return home sparked an El Clásico tug-of-war for his services.

Real Madrid looked set to win the race for Spain's World Cup-winning captain, until Barcelona stole in to seal a deal.

The 30-year-old returns to La Liga after winning it all at Manchester City, including four Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the 2024 Ballon d'Or.

Anthony Gordon - Newcastle United to Barcelona (£69m)

Anthony Gordon has never been short of confidence and an impressive start at Barcelona has earned him admirers at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona spent £69m to sign the England winger from Newcastle United, after opting against turning Marcus Rashford's loan into a permanent transfer. Gordon has recorded three assists in just 182 minutes of La Liga action.

Yan Diomande - RB Leipzig to Real Madrid (£107m)

Real Madrid beat competition from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain to sign Yan Diomande, the costliest deal of a summer overhaul under the returning Jose Mourinho.

Diomande was electric in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 12 times and adding eight assists, and the teenager now links up with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior in an attack full of speed and skill.
