Mikel Arteta finally agrees new Arsenal contract - including a mega pay rise
Mikel Arteta has agreed a new contract with Arsenal which will take him into at least a 10th year as manager, according to BBC Sport.
The Spaniard has been in contract talks with the Gunners for several months, with his current terms set to expire at the end of the season.
But BBC Sport senior football correspondent Sami Mokbel understands Arteta has now reached a final agreement with Arsenal over a new deal.
The length of the contract has not been disclosed but it is understood Arteta will reach at least a decade in charge of the club he has coached since December 2019.
Arteta, who replaced Unai Emery at the Arsenal helm after a spell as Manchester City assistant coach, will receive a significant increase on his current €11.6million (£10m) salary.
Asked about his contract talks with Arsenal, Arteta said in a press conference last week: "They [the fans] don't have to worry about any of that because I want to be here.
“I'm extremely happy and I feel very grateful to work with the people I work with.”

Arteta is being rewarded with a bumper new contract after leading Arsenal to their first Premier League title for 22 years last season.
The 44-year-old also guided the Gunners to their second Champions League final last season - their first appearance in the showpiece since 2006.
After replacing Emery as Arsenal boss, Arteta steered Arsenal to FA Cup glory in 2019-20, as well as an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Arteta has transformed the north London club since then, taking them to three successive Premier League finishes in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Under pressure to win silverware for the first time since their FA Cup triumph in 2020, Arteta and Arsenal pipped Man City to Premier League glory last season.
In what remains his first and only managerial post, Arteta has categorically removed the toxicity which engulfed Arsenal at the time of his arrival in 2019.
Arteta - who also played for Arsenal between 2011 and 2016, winning two FA Cups - has built a formidable side who are renowned as the best defensive team in the world.
Arsenal have made a strong start to the defence of their Premier League crown, winning four of their opening five league games this season.
The Gunners were heavily beaten by Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend, however - something Arteta will look to put right against Leeds United on Saturday, 10 October.
Arteta has also won the Community Shield three times as Arsenal head coach, and guided the club to the Carabao Cup final last season, losing 2-0 to Man City at Wembley Stadium.
