Martinelli completes £60m move from Arsenal to Al-Hilal

Gabriel Martinelli has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal on a permanent transfer, bringing an end to his seven-year spell at Arsenal.

The Brazilian forward joined the Gunners from Ituano in July 2019 and went on to make 278 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 62 goals.

Martinelli, who Al-Hilal have paid around £60m to sign, played an integral role in Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season and also helped the club lift the FA Cup in 2020 and the Community Shield in 2023.

The 25-year-old established himself as a regular on the international stage during his time in north London, earning 27 caps for Brazil and representing his country at two World Cups, the 2024 Copa America and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where he won a gold medal.

Arsenal paid tribute to Martinelli following confirmation of his departure, thanking the forward for his contribution to the club and wishing him and his family well for the future.
