Manchester United given heads-up over Harry Kane transfer

Bayern chiefs remain confident that Harry Kane will sign a new contract and that it’s only a matter of time.

Decision-makers at the club are particularly keen to keep the England international in Munich after a record-breaking individual campaign in 2025/26.

The former Tottenham hitman’s current terms are set to expire in the summer of 2027.

There are a few items that need to be cleared between player and club before pen is put to paper.

But this comes with the understanding that Kane is expected to sign fresh terms with FC Bayern before the turn of the year.

“I talked with Herbert Hainer, the club president, about the situation and everyone was saying, ‘relax’; everyone thinks a new contract will just be a matter of time,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“There are a few questions around contract talks that have to be cleared but everyone is confident that things will work out. I think in the next month – absolutely this year, not next year – we’ll see a contract announcement.

“I’m really sure that Kane will put pen to paper on an extension this side of 2026. Then, Harry Kane is off the market for every other club for a long time. Sorry again to his long-time admirers, Manchester United!”

And this should come as no surprise to even casual observers after the former Premier League star registered a whopping 61 goals and seven assists (in 51 games across all competitions) last term.

The striker is expected to sign a minimum of a two-year extension.

However, it seems links have waned somewhat in recent months, particularly as it became clear the Englishman isn’t motivated by the prospect of breaking Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record.

And with FC Bayern hunting for European glory in the Champions League, why would he be tempted by a switch?

With the greatest respect to Michael Carrick’s Red Devils, Man Utd are still a million miles away from the sides of yore that could be considered genuine Champions League contenders.

At 33 years of age, even still at the peak of his powers, Harry Kane would be effectively helping steer a side back to the top. As opposed to actively competing at the top now, alongside Luis Enrique’s PSG, with Vincent Kompany’s dominant Bayern side.
