Manchester City would make a loss with former Frankfurt man! Omar Marmoush's medical at new club apparently already scheduled
Omar Marmoush’s move from Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspur is apparently entering the final straight.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says City and Spurs have now reached a verbal agreement. Marmoush is set to join the north London club on an initial loan, with an option to buy next summer that could become an obligation if certain conditions are met. According to Romano, Tottenham would then have to pay City the equivalent of around €58.5 million in 2027 to sign the striker permanently.
Tottenham are also said to have agreed personal terms with Marmoush several days ago. The 27-year-old is reportedly due in London as early as Monday to undergo his medical with his prospective new club.
City appear ready to take a loss on Marmoush, whose contract still runs until 2029. The English runners-up paid Eintracht Frankfurt a €75 million transfer fee for the Egyptian at the start of 2025. Marmoush left SGE midway through the season because he was desperate to move to the Premier League.

Marmoush made a bright start in Manchester, establishing himself straight away and scoring seven goals in 16 Premier League appearances in his first half-season at City. In the season just gone, though, he was mostly used as a substitute, and his standing has not improved under new head coach Enzo Maresca, Pep Guardiola's successor. That is why Marmoush stayed on the bench for the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth in Sunday's Premier League opener.
Spurs could even bring in another City player alongside him in Savinho, with Tottenham also said to have reached an agreement with the Brazilian. Richarlison, Dominic Solanke, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski are all waiting in attack, so strong competition for places would greet both of them in London.
Roberto De Zerbi now has the job of turning things around after a completely disastrous previous season, having taken over at the end of March during the relegation battle. That task got off to a terrible start when Tottenham were beaten 3-0 by Brentford away from home in their opening match of the new Premier League season on Saturday.
