Manchester United have been boosted in their pursuit of Lewis Hall, with the defender reluctant to move back to London, reports GIVEMESPORT.

Hall has been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League this season. His form in an underperforming Newcastle side seemed it should have been more than enough to earn a place in England's World Cup squad.

But Thomas Tuchel opted for full-backs Reece James, Nico O'Reilly, Djed Spence and Hall's Newcastle team-mate Tino Livramento.

It's reported Hall has been left 'devastated' by his omission from the Three Lions squad and is considering his Magpies future as a result.

Indeed, he's unhappy with the latter stages of the season at Newcastle, though he felt he had done enough to earn a place on the England plane.

Limited game time, with Dan Burn being picked ahead of him in key fixtures, has also disappointed the defender, who has options for the future.

Former club Chelsea have often been mentioned with interest in Hall, while Bayern Munich are said to be interested, as well as Manchester United.

And the Red Devils could be the club with the best chance of luring in the left-back over the summer.

Amid United's long-standing interest in Hall, there are a couple of reasons why they could be the side to land him, with both boosting their chances.

It's reported Hall does not want to move abroad at this stage in his career, preferring to continue in the Premier League, thus giving Bayern Munich little chance of his signing.

Chelsea are also seemingly out of luck, as the left-back's preference would not be to move back to London.

As a top Premier League side outside of the capital, United have a strong chance of being the club to lure Hall in.

With that said, Newcastle are not actively looking to get rid of Hall, despite his disappointment at the season and his role of late.

United have other targets at left-back, with Nottingham Forest's Neco Williams one name mentioned, though a recent report has stated the Midlands outfit don't want to part company with him.

Who the Red Devils secure remains to be seen, but there's a long summer ahead and interest in a new left-back is evident.
