Manchester United have an agreement in place to sign Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos for a £50million package, confirmed by multiple insiders.
It became evident in the last week that United were hoping to sign Santos. They have a deal with compatriot midfielder Ederson ready to confirm, and the raid on Chelsea is next.
It was suggested that United were one of a few sides sniffing around the £50million-rated Blues man.
Now, insiders Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein have confirmed a transfer of that value is going through.
The deal will be of £48million, with £2million in add-ons, and Santos has permission to complete a medical with United.
It is expected that the entire deal will be concluded on Thursday, inclusive of a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
Alex Scott deal coming
Chelsea are said to have immediate plans with the money they're going to make from Santos - the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
Chelsea insider Si Phillips suggests a bid will soon be launched for the Cherries man.
The suggestion in reports is that Scott will command an £80million fee, and that's something United themselves were looking into, though it appears now they're getting Santos as well as Ederson, they won't bother.
Bournemouth are said to be looking to tie Scott down to a new contract, but that's not going to stop Chelsea pushing hard for him.
Whether the Cherries accept whatever bid the London club comes in with remains to be seen, but it appears the Blues are indeed looking to go hard for Scott now that they've got some money coming in and a midfield spot to fill.
They could have a second of those soon, with speculation on the future of Enzo Fernandez remaining rife. The Argentine has been linked with big clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, though whether anyone is able to land him remains to be seen.
Fernandez will command a fee above £100million, following some good seasons after being signed for over that number when he first joined from Benfica in 2023. Chelsea's midfield may have a very new look soon.
