In-form Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey is expected to be the subject of offers from Manchester United and Arsenal in January, reports Hooligan Soccer.
Brobbey is the subject of a lot of attention after scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City in the last Premier League game. Sunderland lost 5-3, with all of their goals scored by their striker.
They were his only goals for the season, after he scored seven times in his debut season in the English top flight.
There have been links with Chelsea and Tottenham following that return, and the Dutch striker can now count United and Arsenal among his admirers.
It's reported that while he's yet to be the subject of any offers, approaches from both clubs are expected to materialise in either January or the summer window.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are said to maintain a hot pursuit of the 24-year-old.
But it's said Sunderland are delighted with Brobbey's progress since joining the club and see him as a key part of their long-term future.
With that said, it would appear any interested club would have to part with a fairly sizeable fee if they are to get him.
The figures required, per the report, would be between £50-55million.
Manchester United interest not new
United were linked with Brobbey in the summer, with TEAMtalk stating that they were long-term admirers, amid a desire to add another option to their front line beyond Benjamin Sesko.
But the Red Devils were so focussed on the midfield - where three men joined - that they did not put an awful lot of energy into adding a new striker to the fold.
They were one of a number of sides said to be interested in Brobbey at the time, and it appears that remains the case going into January.
Football presenter James Allcott has detailed how the Sunderland striker would be a good option for United, particularly as an alternative to Sesko, who's been coming on off the bench for much of his time at the club.
Allcott said: “He’s going to a big club pretty soon. Once we get to the summer people will be clamouring for him and he’ll cost a certain amount.
“I think he’d do ok. Man United, if they’d had someone like him to bring on if Sesko’s not fit or not right, that would be huge for them.”
