Liverpool make nine changes for the Merseyside Derby as the Reds return to full strength for their first match at Anfield this season.

Liverpool have made nine changes for this afternoon’s Women’s Super League fixture with Everton at Anfield, with Gareth Taylor going all out following his side’s 4-2 League Cup victory over Sunderland in midweek.

A brace from Marie Hobinger on her return from injury, with others from Zara Shaw and a first Liverpool goal for Natalia Ramos saw the Reds overcome a half-time 2-1 deficit to win.

The Reds are looking to continue their momentum in the WSL season after a promising start, and rewrite the result in this fixture last year, where the Toffees came out 4-1 victors thanks to a hat-trick from then new signing Ornella Vignola.

MacLean returns after injruy

After picking up an injury which saw her replaced by Natalia Ramos, Kirsty MacLean returns to the starting XI as Ceri Holland remains on the sidelines with injury.

The 21-year-old Scot started in the Reds’ 4-0 opening day victory over Charlton but has not featured since.

Fuka Nagano continues to be an ever-present alongside Maclean, while Ramos is expected to operate further forward in Holland’s absence. The Spaniard bagged her first goal for her new club in midweek.

Up top, Beata Olsson starts as her quest for her first WSL goal of the season continues, while Cornelia Kapocs and Vivien Endemann starts off the left and right wings respectively

Kerr continues to thrive at right back

After it was announced that she is returning to the Scotland squad for the international break, Sam Kerr continues to be utilised in the right back position with usual starter Mari Ward still unavailable.

Kerr has played nye-on every minute of Liverpool’s WSL campaign this season, proving her versatility to Scotland boss Melissa Andreatta to earn a call-up. She is part of a defence that includes captain Grace Fisk, Jenna Clark, and Alejandra Bernabé.

Khiara Keating returns in goal after a minor injury scare which ruled her out of the win over Sunderland. However, with it being a League Cup fixture, it is likely she would have been rested regardless.

Marie Therese Hobinger is back among the substitutes after getting her first minutes under her belt in midweek, while Mia Enderby and Lily Woodham also feature on the bench.

Sara Agrez is another option among the replacements, alongside Faye Kirby, Sophie Ramon Haug, Alice Bergstrom, Aurélie Csillag and Maizie Trueman.
