Liverpool know what it will cost them to land Mexican wonderkid Gilberto Mora next summer, according to Football Insider.
The Reds have had eyes on Mora since he broke into the Tijuana first team in 2024-25, and he's since grown into one of their most important players.
Beyond club form, where Mora is one of the highest scorers in Mexico this season, with five goals, alongside one assist, the 17-year-old played for his nation at the World Cup and looked at home despite his age.
He wouldn't be able to move on until he turns 18, but Liverpool have continued tracking him as they look to make a move once that has happened.
It's now reported that they'll need to spend up to £40million for the young star.
Indeed, Tijuana will demand £30million at the very least, but it's expected the price will end up being closer to £40million.
The Mexican club also want clauses included that would see them continue to make money from their academy product down the line.
And it seems Liverpool will be forced to pay towards the upper end of the price range in order to sign Mora, as it's been revealed that he also has admirers at Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
With fierce competition for a prodigious talent, the price could indeed be bumped up.
Gilberto Mora to move in summer
Mora's transfer would be able to happen in January, as he turns 18 in October and will then be eligible to move countries.
But it's recently been reported that Tijuana feel a summer move gives them the best chance to make as much money as possible from the teenager's transfer.
His form this season is already fantastic - five goals and an assist alongside a first goal for Mexico which made him the nation's youngest ever scorer.
With current form in mind, Mora could well keep that up throughout the season and by the summer, be worth more than he would have been in January.
Previous reports suggested there would be an open race for the teenager, and the interest from big clubs reinforces that view.
Tijuana are in a good spot to land very good money from a player they know they're not going to be able to keep for long.
