Liverpool are prepared to break the bank in order to lure their perfect Mohamed Salah replacement to Anfield, according to Spanish publication Fichajes.

The Egypt international was exceptional as the Reds won the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s debut season on Merseyside, scoring 29 goals and laying on 18 assists.

Salah put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with Liverpool back in April to quash speculation linking the forward with a big money move to Saudi Arabia over the summer.

However, the 33-year-old has made a poor start to the season having scored just four goals and provided two assists in a new-look Liverpool.

Liverpool ready to splash the cash further

The champions invested heavily over the summer to strengthen their attack, bringing in Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.

Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong also made the move to Anfield, joining from Bournemouth and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively, to bolster at left and right-back.

Frimpong moved to Slot’s side as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who secured a high-profile switch to Real Madrid.

And Liverpool are set for a new-look right side as they prepare to launch a record move for Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise.

Reds readying monster €200m bid for Olise

Olise moved to Bayern from Crystal Palace 18 months’ ago, and the Frenchman has become a mainstay for the Bundesliga champions.

The 23-year-old’s showings for FC Hollywood have attracted interest from Liverpool, who feel Olise is the long-term replacement for Salah on the right flank.

The Reds are reportedly prepared to spend as much as €200m in order to convince Bayern to sell one of their prized assets.

Bayern and Liverpool enduring contrasting seasons

Bayern sit top of the Bundesliga with 28 points from the opening 10 matches, and are six points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig in their title defence.

Olise, along with England captain Harry Kane and former Reds man Luis Diaz, have been instrumental in Bayern’s flying start to the season.

Liverpool, by comparison, are struggling have won six and lost five of their opening 11 Premier League games, and are currently eight points off league leaders Arsenal.
