Liverpool have put Brentford right-back Michael Kayode "top of their watchlist" while other big clubs are monitoring him, reports Caught Offside.
The Reds have played central defender Ronald Araujo on the right side of their defence a few times this season. Beyond the Barcelona loanee, their options in the position are Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.
Frimpong has had an awful time with his form of late, while Bradley is yet to return from injury.
As such, Liverpool are said to want to strengthen their right-back rotation and have Brentford's Kayode "top of their watchlist."
Also watching Kayode are Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle. Meanwhile, in his native Italy, the right-back is being watched by Juventus and Fiorentina.
None of the aforementioned sides have begun negotiation with Brentford, but he is being monitored by them all.
The Bees are said not to want to sell their full-back, and value him between €60-65million (£51-56m).
Jeremy Jacquet cost Liverpool a similar fee, while they paid over that for Virgil van Dijk, so they're no strangers to paying big fees for defensive talents if they deem them worth it.
Michael Kayode impressing in recent games
Kayode has started four of Brentford's five Premier League games this season, scoring in their season opener against Tottenham.
He has also made his first appearances for the Italian national team in the current international break, and is impressing for his nation.
Kayode played the full 90 minutes on debut against Turkey, and the right-back got his maiden international goal within half an hour of the game.
Only midfielder Davide Frattesi and striker Pio Esposito gained a higher FotMob rating in the 4-1 victory than Kayode.
As well as his goal, Kayode earned his 8.2 rating for his 93 per cent pass accuracy, one chance created and three shots on target.
He made three passes into the final third, made two out of two successful crosses, one tackle, three clearances, two with his head, and two recoveries.
He also won more than half of his duels and was fouled twice.
The Italian defender looked at home on international debut, and the clubs watching him will have enjoyed seeing him make the step up with ease.
