Yankuba Minteh is not the only Premier League winger Liverpool are eyeing before the end of the summer transfer window, with an exciting new name emerging.

Liverpool have already signed Victor Munoz this summer and are aiming to bring in two more wide players before the transfer deadline. Bradley Barcola is their No 1 target, and he could replace Tottenham Hotspur-linked Cody Gakpo on the left flank.

Liverpool agreed personal terms with PSG right winger Ibrahim Mbaye but have since decided to chase Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh instead.

So far, Liverpool have had bids for Minteh worth £50million and £60m rejected by Brighton. The Reds are now weighing up whether to get closer to Brighton’s £70m valuation.

But Liverpool could go in a completely different direction by raiding Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr.

According to Turkish reporter Nevzat Dindar, Liverpool might provide Galatasaray with competition for the Palace right winger.

“Ismaila Sarr can play in many areas of the attacking line, which is why [Galatasaray boss] Okan Buruk wants this transfer very much,” Dindar said (via Galatasaray account Forza Cimbom).

“Galatasaray is extremely serious about the Ismaila Sarr transfer. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, is just as determined not to sell the player.

“However, Sarr wants to leave and did not take a place in the squad today for this reason.

“It’s also reported that Liverpool is interested in the Senegalese footballer.”

Liverpool fans would likely love to see Sarr move to Anfield given his superb record against the club.

Sarr famously ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the 2019-20 campaign by registering two goals and one assist in a memorable 3-0 victory for his former side Watford.

Ismaila Sarr usually shines against Liverpool

Across spells at Watford and Palace, the 28-year-old has managed seven goals and two assists in 10 appearances against Liverpool.

Sarr has proven to be one of Liverpool’s biggest menaces in recent years, so him lining up for Iraola would give supporters one less problem to worry about.

Palace are determined to keep the 87-cap Senegal international but may consider a bid worth £50m or more.

As things stand, however, Galatasaray are pushing harder to sign Sarr than Liverpool.

We revealed on July 2 that Manchester United had held talks with Sarr’s agents over a possible transfer. But United are currently prioritising the capture of Carlos Baleba and a new left-back.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are reportedly planning a mega new offer for top priority Barcola.
