Liverpool forward suffers injury blow confirms Iraola

Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa is unavailable with a small muscle injury, manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed.

The Italy international was absent from Liverpool’s squad for their Premier League season-opener against Newcastle United last Sunday.

Iraola revealed Chiesa picked up the injury during Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Como.

“Fede is not available,” Iraola said.

“In the [pre-season] game against Como he felt something at the back and it’s a small muscle injury. He is not available.”
