Liverpool confirm 'excellent' forward deal

Liverpool only have hours to finalise their first-team squad for the 2026-27 season.

Of course, the January transfer window could end up featuring a few different deals but, for the first half of the campaign, Liverpool need to get their squad locked in.

Obviously, a fair few deals are still expected to take place before the window slams shut but, since there isn't that much time left for them to be confirmed, fans are starting to get a little worried.

However, luckily for them, the deals seem to be moving on rather quickly with one transfer even getting over the line today.

Bradley Barcola's Liverpool transfer was announced on Monday

One of the main players to have been linked with Liverpool this summer is Bradley Barcola.

Although he wasn't the Reds' first choice, he's certainly going to improve their chances of finishing higher than fifth in the Premier League.

By trade, the attacker is a left-winger and, since the Reds already have an abundance of them at their disposal, it does feel like the Frenchman will be used on the right to replace Mohamed Salah.

Negotiations for the attacker have been going on for months now and now, Liverpool have finally confirmed their deal for the Frenchman.

"We are delighted to announce we have completed the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, subject to international clearance," they shared via X.

Liverpool have now welcomed four new players through the Anfield doors this summer but, plenty more changes are still needed.

Ronald Araujo, Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet have all already played regular roles for Iraola's men this season with Munoz being the brightest spark of the lot.

However, none of those players really scream Champions League winner, apart from Araujo and now Barcola, of course.

But, since Liverpool have chosen to sign the Uruguayan in arguably the worst form of his career, he's not the most exciting of deals that they could've made.

However, them getting a deal for Barcola over the line is certainly exciting.

He's won the Champions League two years in a row and has contributed to 62 goals across all competitions over the last couple of seasons.

This level of return is unreal and, since he's only 23 years old, he's likely to become even better than he already is.

Here's hoping that the "excellent" attacker meets expectations and becomes Liverpool's next Salah, otherwise, the Reds are going to be in some serious trouble.
