Tottenham Hotspur were able to sign Omar Marmoush and Savio from Manchester City to add two new pillars to an attack that, once again, looked woeful to open the Premier League season in a 3-0 loss to London rivals Brentford.

Immediately, Savio made a massive impact for Tottenham in his debut off the bench against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night in the League Cup, creating two goals to the good for Spurs - and fans are hoping for more to come. And that is without getting to see Marmoush, whose deal was just freshly sealed.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi still has one more big name on his agenda in Cody Gakpo, the LIverpool forward who may have increased his chances by playing exceptionally well in his first game under Andoni Iraola vs. Newcastle United.

Cody Gakpo is very much available for Tottenham

But with Liverpool now sealing the 100 million pound deal for their ultimate dream left wing target to replace Luis Diaz, Bradley Barcola, Gakpo is still on the table for Tottenham Hotspur if they are willing to pay a hefty price for him.

Iraola recently addressed the Gakpo rumors, via Hotspur Lane, and his lack of a committed answer after the Barcola signing for the Reds was telling. Here, the Spanish manager basically admitted that Cody Gakpo's future is not entirely in their hands and that he can't guarantee to Liverpool fans that the Dutch international will be staying at Anfield depending on how things shake out in the final days of the summer 2026 transfer window.

The Liverpool manager said, “With the transfer window still open, you never know what could happen. I can’t say for certain what will happen with any of our players. When the market is open and we bring in expensive players I cannot guarantee anything.”

Now, that does not mean Gakpo is going to Tottenham or that Spurs are favored to sign him, but it does mean that the Reds are leaving the door open for the veteran forward's departure to another Premier League Big Six club.

Of course, Tottenham are not the only suitors. Manchester City are very involved and are bona fide Premier League title contenders even without Pep Guardiola, and they have beaten Tottenham badly to new signings before, including last winter with Antoine Semenyo. And by siging Omar Marmoush and Savio, Spurs just gave City a great opening to sign Gakpo. But Gakpo is available, Roberto De Zerbi wants him, and he could be a great fit.
