Khaldoon Speaks Out! The latest from the Man City Chairman

Man City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has written a letter to fans after reports suggest the club will be found guilty of 114 of the charges brought against us.

In it, Khaldoon stresses the importance of confidentiality, essentially saying there's lots he'd want to say but due to the ongoing legal processes he's unable to at this moment in time.

He also repeats the statements made after these initial reports came out through a variety of media outlets, as well as the statememt from February 2023 when these charges were brought.

Reading between the lines, it's clear that Khaldoon believes Man City are innocent of any charges and remains determined to prove that.

As I wrote in my piece this morning, these rules were set out to stop City from joining the top table. See how these rules have affected Aston Villa and Newcastle? How can either of those sides challenge for top four places season after season when these rules handicap them? Both sides have been forced to sell their best players, how are these rules fair?

They certainly didn't exist before our takeover, when the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal could spend what they liked.

However, ultimately the rules need to be obeyed. If we haven't, we'll inevitably be punished. What that punishment looks like will probably take just as long to decide and implement as the investigation has gone on for in all honesty.

I'd be heartbroken if our owners have lied to us. But until proven otherwise, I'll back my club and the board all the way. With everything they've done for us, it's the least they deserve.
