Liverpool have been credited with interest in Bournemouth winger Rayan, who Andoni Iraola signed during his time with the Cherries.

The Reds signed Bradley Barcola for over £100million in the summer, and landed Victor Munoz from Osasuna. But there remains a sense that they failed to replace Mohamed Salah during the summer.

Their big-money signing does not play on the right wing, and a few different players have started there already this season.

Further to that, Liverpool are continuing to be linked with right-wingers, after only one win in four Premier League games so far.

Speaking to Football Insider, Pete O'Rourke states the Reds are interested in Rayan, who Iraola signed for Bournemouth.

He said: "Well there's obvious links between Rayan and the Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola after their time at Bournemouth.

"We know that Rayan has this release clause which becomes active next summer. It's for £130million, so it's a pretty hefty release clause.

"I don't think Liverpool will be willing to pay that, but they've shown in the past that they will pay big money for top targets as they have done for Isak, Wirtz and Barcola recently.

"That release clause would probably be a bit expensive for Liverpool and a number of the other clubs interested in signing Rayan.

"But I'm sure he is a player that's on their list because of the obvious links between the manager and the player as well, and maybe they could make a move in the future."

Rayan stats under Andoni Iraola

When Iraola signed Rayan for Bournemouth in January, he was excited about his promise but didn't want to rush him into playing.

He said: “I am really happy to sign Rayan.

“Obviously, it’s a big change for him but he was really happy and also excited. He’s been good training and he is ready for tomorrow. He will be a good help in this moment.

“We have to be careful with him in the sense that he’s 19. He’s making a big jump, a big change to a different country.

“I want him to be confident. It’s going to be difficult because he still doesn’t know a lot of things about us and we are trying to give him more information."

Iraola needed not be nervous about Rayan's start at Bournemouth, as he assisted on debut, before scoring in both of his next two games.

He finished his first half season with five goals and two assists in just 15 games. Evidently, Iraola was able to get something out of him, which his current boss isn't, as the Brazilian has only one goal in four appearances this season.

Reuniting with his former boss could see him explode once again, and in a side with more quality.
