Insider expects Liverpool man Florian Wirtz to head 'straight to Bayern Munich'

Florian Wirtz is going to head "straight to Bayern Munich," in the thoughts of former Premier League scout Bryan King, speaking to Football Insider.
When Wirtz joined Liverpool, he came with a reputation as one of the most in-form midfielders in Europe, and for £116.5million. The attacking midfielder had just come off the back of a 16-goal and 15-assist season, and was wanted by Bayern and Real Madrid as well as Liverpool.
Wirtz was not close to his tallies from his final season with Bayer Leverkusen when he joined Liverpool, and five games into the new campaign, he has a single assist and no goals.
Some fans feels it's time to cut him loose, though recouping anything close to what the Reds paid for him seems difficult.
In any case, former Premier League scout King feels there'll be a home for Wirtz back in the Bundesliga, with juggernauts Bayern.
Bayern Munich expected to move for Florian Wirtz
He said: "As I looked at it, I thought that he certainly didn't warrant that kind of fee. That immediately puts an added pressure on anybody when you're talking about a player costing that amount of money.
"I mean, he's only 23, and he had done well in the Bundesliga. I think he'll be going back to the Bundesliga, to be honest. I think if he continues as he is, he'll probably go straight back to Bayern Munich.
"There you would see an immediate difference in the way he plays and his attitude. I think Liverpool, at this moment in time, is too big for him. You've got that money hanging around your neck.
"Look at Alexander Isak, the first year he came in. He ended up trying so hard that he was picking up injuries nearly every bloody week. You know, over-stretching, overreaching, not getting the service that he wanted.
"But now he looks as though he could be a very good signing. He could, but the other one is a million miles away."
Why Bayern would not feel as big for Wirtz as Liverpool in King's mind is unclear, as both are of very similar stature, and in fact the German club tend to do better in the Champions League in recent seasons.
But a return to Germany could indeed allow Wirtz to play a style of football he's more used to and has succeeded at previously.
